I thought it was best to be observant on my walk to the music building tonight. At least when I got to the steps of the building. Well, actually, I've been paying more attention to typography in general in the last few months, moreso than is normal for most folks. So many miles to walk before becoming at one with it.

What's there to lose if I did? There's roughly a 1% return on satisfaction just staring at the computer screen hoping to pass the time. There's no use in feeding the misery, annoyance, and frustration of being in computer science. Learning is, in fact, rewarding, if I don't lose interest along the way.

I'm most stubborn in this, in doing my readings and assignments as they come up – or even at the last minute – and I really don't know what to do to change my attitude.

There was a bit of competition for the last few spots, and the line-up included at some points Squarepusher, Planet Asia, Thicke, Propagandhi, Death In Vegas, and Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.

Honorable mentions go to Prince (‘Batdance’), Neneh Cherry (‘Buffalo Stance’), El-P (‘Dr. Hellno and the Praying Mantus’), and Egyptian Lover (‘Egypt, Egypt’). They were briefly considered but never made it onto the mix at any point.

I want to win a Grammy just so I can say ‘Fuck you music industry assholes’. Why hasn't any artist done that yet? Are they so in the pockets of their record labels that they don't want to risk it? Bah.

And somehow I ended up downloading six Bone Thugs videos, because I used to watch them many times over back when I first moved to Springfield. ‘Crossroads’, ‘Days of Our Lives’, ‘First of tha Month’, they were all good.

Nick was my only friend for awhile who liked them at all, let alone as much as me. We used to watch The Box a lot, and got pissed off when they replaced it with QVC. ‘First of tha Month’ was requested so many times.

On the third hand, and for the mid-weight who isn't already tired, wash it all down with Amber Woodchuck Cider. Whether or not the tastes compliment, I don't really know.

And I don't want to be in school anymore. All high hopes have fallen.

You see, my Athlon CPU has four circular rubber pads on the top. And instantly I thought, There's no need for the thermal compound because the heatsink won't directly touch the small piece of elevated metal in the middle of the chip.

I was wrong, of course. Once the compound was applied and the motherboard put into place, the computer started up. (One of the nice features of the motherboard is instant computer turn-off if the processor starts to overheat.)

And because of Will, I now know what some of those extra screws do. I can secure a motherboard to the case and not have to use cardboard pieces to elevate the motherboard enough so that the video card and other things are lined up with the slot openings. I will also be more mindful of the organization of data cables and wires within the case so that better airflow can occur.

There are a couple of minor and annoying issues to solve now. It took four installs of Windows XP before I accidentally figured out how to properly boot to XP.

Wasting time is my profession. I need a new career path.
